Teen Department
The Teen Department offers a wide range of services to better prepare the teens of the community for the rest of their lives. We offer access to free computers which can safely access the internet through our content filtering software. We also have an expansive collection of both print and digital resources, including books, databases, ebooks, and more.
In addition to the above, we offer a unique spectrum of programming designed by teens for teens. Our main program is the Teen Advisory Board, or TAB. The Board acts as Teens’ voice in the library and help to plan events, decide programming, and promote the library. If you are interested in a program that we don’t currently offer, let us know and we will work to develop that program together! In addition to literacy, we have programs that focus on STEAM learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) centering on educating in these areas as well. We offer opportunity for all areas of teen literacy needs.
Our current schedule of programs for Teens is:
Teen Advisory Board – 5:30-7:00pm, Monday Evenings
Tech Tuesdays – 3:30-5:30pm, Tuesday Evenings
A fun, drop-in program held in our Youth Department which is open to some of our younger patrons, as well! Come build crazy stuff with our Maker Cart, packed full of motors, connectors, and tools!
Dungeons and Dragons – 6:00-7:30pm, Wednesday Evenings
The Teen Department is active on Social Media! If you have a question about our collection, have an idea about a program, or just need to tell us something, send us a message and we will get back with you as quickly as we can! We have a Facebook and an Instagram!
